Uttar Pradesh: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Shankar raises sugarcane farmers’ issues

Amroha: The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Shankar held a public awareness program under the banner of ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’ in the Kailasa region on Sunday. The meeting was held at the residence of Dr. Nipendra Yadav in village Milak Adalpur Taj, reported Amar Ujala.

Surendra Yadav presided over the meeting, while Satyaveer Singh conducted the proceedings. BKU Shankar national president Chaudhary Diwakar Singh raised various issues related to sugarcane farmers. He said that there is a need for extensive research on sugarcane. A suitable alternative to sugarcane variety 0238 has not yet been developed. He demanded that the Punjab government’s varieties PB095 and 15216 be approved for cultivation in Uttar Pradesh. He also demanded that sugar mills be operated from October to March every year.
