Andhra Pradesh: Bheemasingi sugar factory shut down for modernisation

Bheemasingi (Vizianagaram): State government had proposed to modernize the Bheemasingi cooperative sugar factory located in Jami Mandal in the district. Now, it has been shut down for facelift. The aim is to increase the capacity of the sugar mill. The mill was set up 45 years ago and was running with outdated machines and technology resulting in poor results.

According to the media report, government took the decision following the recommendation submitted by the technical committee appointed by the government in this regard. The sugarcane grown by the farmers from the mill’s jurisdiction would be diverted to the NCS sugar factory, Sankili Sugars and GMR Sugars in Srikakulam district.
