Bihar: Demand to start closed sugar mill

Purnia: Sugarcane farmers are awaiting for the reopening of Banmankhi sugar mill, which was closed around 30 years ago. It was one of the biggest sugar mills in Asia. As the election is around the corner, political parties are assuring farmers and workers regarding the commencement of the sugar mill. The revival plan has raised a ray of hope of the people associated with this mill.

It is expected that the mill would generate employment to the local youths and benefit lakhs of sugarcane farmers and their families.

Nitish government claims that they are in process of reviving the defunct sugar mills in Bihar for the welfare of people.
