Bihar: East Champaran to get Its first ethanol plant

Motihari: East Champaran will get the first ethanol plant which will be set up in Nayagaon-Kushhar village of Kesaria block. The Industries Department of the Bihar government has approved the plant.

Harendra Kumar Vajpayee, the company’s Managing Director and CEO of the company, provided information about this proposal during a press conference held in Kesariya on Sunday.

The proposed ethanol factory will be constructed for 132 crore rupees, with a daily production capacity of 1 lakh litres of ethanol, he said. The setting up of the ethanol factory will provide employment opportunities to one thousand people. He mentioned that maize, rice and sugarcane will be used to produce ethanol benefiting farmers within a radius of thirty kilometres from the factory. The opening of this factory will also boost the production of grains used for ethanol. He said that the approval for the construction of the factory was obtained from the State Investment Promotion Board almost one and a half years ago. After receiving approval, it took more than a year to obtain clearance from various departments. However, all obstacles have now been resolved.
