Bijnor: Farmers to grow chilli in Sugarcane region

Bijnor: Farmers in the sugarcane-producing district will focus to grow chili to increase their income, reports Amar Ujala.

In the district, chilli cultivation takes place in small areas, approximately five acres. In collaboration with the Export Promotion Department, the district’s farmers are being encouraged to engage in chilli cultivation due to the growing demand for chilli in foreign markets. They claim to have reached out to farmers for a 50-hectare cultivation project. Dr. Shoeb, the Director of Farmers Producers Company Limited, stated that they will be sowing high-yield chilli varieties such as “Gol Dana,” “6807,” and “G-11” to boost production.
