Sugarcane farmers demand hike in SAP

Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers want the government to hike State Advisory Price (SAP) to Rs 450 per quintal for this crushing season. The demand was made by the Rashtriya Lok Dal, an organisation fighting for farmer’s rights and has launched agitation against the farm bills.

The delegation of agitators under the leadership of district unit head Rahul Singh rushed to Sikeda village on Monday. Addressing the gathering, he said, the government should announce the SAP for sugarcane at least Rs 450 per quintal.
