Moradabad: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) organized demonstrations at Thakurdwara demanding an increase in sugarcane price, reports Live Hindustan.
BKU organized a meeting at the Panchayat office on Saturday under the leadership of Chaudhari Rajendra Sinh. After the meeting, the farmers organized a demonstration demanding higher cane prices.
A memorandum of their demands was handed over to the SDM.
Farmers have demanded the government hike sugarcane prices to Rs 450 per quintal and implement the recommendations of the Swaminathan committee.
