BKU to protest against infections to sugarcane crops

Meerut: Sugarcane farmers associated with BKU have announced a protest regarding the infestation of pests in the sugarcane crop and the sluggishness of the  mills, reported Live Hindustan.

BKU leaders have stated that if the sugar mills and sugarcane department do not provide relief to the farmers, they will stage a sit-in at the sugar building. Rajkumar Karnawal, the Western UP Secretary of BKU, has mentioned that an insect named Sundi is damaging the sugarcane crop. This information has been given to the sugarcane department officials, but no relief has been provided yet. This has distressed the farmers. If the sugarcane  department and sugar mill management do not pay attention to the disease, they will stage a sit-in at the government office.
