Brazil mills focusing on ethanol production: Datagro

New York: Sugar and ethanol plants in Brazil are mulling to reduce the sugar production and focusing on increasing ethanol production to address the rise in demand and high prices for Biofuel in the country, said consultancy Datagro on Wednesday.

The financial returns on sales of anhydrous ethanol which is blended in gasoline are more than those from sugar sales which is promoting some mills to divert to ethanol production rather than sugar production, said analyst Plinio Nastari during the Santander ISO Datagro New York Sugar and Ethanol Conference.
