BSF foils another attempt of sugar smuggling on Indo-Bangladesh international border

In their efforts to stop crimes across borders and prevent smuggling, Border Security Force (BSF) troops stationed under the Guwahati Frontier successfully stopped a another smuggling attempt and confiscated a large quantity of sugar intended for smuggling on the Indo-Bangladesh international border.

BSF said, “On December 11, troops of 49 Bn BSF during boat patrolling in Brahmaputra River near Village 60 Bighachar, PS-Sukhchar, Distt- South Salamara Mankachar (Assam), foiled smuggling attempt and succeeded to seize 12397 kg of sugar worth Rs 7.65 Lakh along with two engine fitted boats meant to smuggle from India.”

Earlier also on December 8, vigilant BSF troops intercepted and successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 6,468 kg of sugar, valued at Rs 4.66 lakh meant for smuggling on Indo-Bangladesh international border.
