Karnal: Karnal Cooperative sugar mill is ready to start cane crushing operations from Monday after completing a trial for over a month.
The inauguration of the crushing season of the mill will be done by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The power generation plant of the mill will also start operations on Monday.
After the revival of the mill, the crushing capacity of the mill has been increased from 2,200 tonnes per day (TCD) to 3,500 TCD.
A total of Rs 263 crore has been spent on the new mill and it will also generate 18 MW power. The mill would now be able to crush around 8 to 10 lakh of additional sugarcane with increased crushing capacity.
Aditi, MD, Karnal Cooperative Sugar Mill said, “We conducted a trial between April 8 and May 16, which was successful.”
