Hasanpur: Sugarcane farmers have Kalakheda urged sugar mill to clear pending cane dues as early as possible amid the coronavirus pandemic. They have threatened to launch an agitation if the sugar mill fails to clear the arrears.
Mahendra Sinh Arya, district deputy president of BKU Mahashakti has written a letter to the chief manager, Kisan cooperative sugar mill, Kalakheda demanding that the mill should clear the pending cane dues to the farmers on a priority basis else the farmers will agitate for the same.
Farmers are in dire need of money during the pandemic outbreak and it is the responsibility of the mill to pay their dues in time, he said in a letter.
He also urged the mill to continue cane crushing operations till all the sugarcane grown in the region is completely crushed.
