China to hold further auctions of sugar reserves in future

Beijing, China: China will continue to hold further auctions of its sugar reserves in near future to ensure the stability of domestic price and supply, the state’s reserve management center said in a notice on Tuesday, reported Reuters.

China’s move to hold these auctions comes as a response to the current scenario of tightening the sugar supply and surging prices for this sweet commodity. Notably, China recently held its first auction of state sugar reserves since 2016 on September 27th, addressing the urgent need to manage the sugar market dynamics within the country.
