Government committed to reviving closed sugar mills: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the sugarcane farmers and will take steps to revive the closed sugar mills, reports PTI.

He was speaking with sugarcane farmers during his Samadhan Yatra, here.

He also stated that the government will ensure that the sugarcane farmers get their cane dues immediately from sugar mills.

A delegation of sugarcane farmers associated with the Sasa Musa sugar mill in Gopalganj met him and told him that the defunct sugar mill still owes their cane dues. Kumar assured them that if the mill fails to clear its dues, the government will seize it and clear the cane dues of farmers.
