New Delhi: The coronavirus, which originated in China’s Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 100 countries, infecting over 1,20,000 people.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic and Europe as its epicentre with more reported cases and deaths than the rest of the world combined, apart from China.

State cabinet minister Madan Kaushik on Saturday said that coronavirus is declared as an epidemic in the state and all Cinema halls and colleges will remain closed in the state till March 31. Medical colleges, however, will remain open.

However, Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) exams will be conducted as per schedule.

Three of the five suspected coronavirus patients who had escaped from Mayo Hospital yesterday, returned back on Saturday.

Ravindra H Thakare, Nagpur Collector & District Magistrate told the reporters: “Three of the five suspected coronavirus patients who had escaped from Mayo Hospital, have returned.” He further added that the police will be deployed outside the isolation ward.
