With increase of 3,722 cases in 24 hrs, India’s COVID-19 count reaches 78,003
With a spike of 3,722 new cases in the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 count in India reached 78,003 on Thursday morning, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As per the latest update by the Ministry, there are 49,219 active cases in the country while 26,235 patients have been cured and discharged, and one migrated, so far. With 134 new deaths being reported due to the disease since yesterday, the toll due to the disease reached 2,549. With 25,922 confirmed cases, Maharashtra is the worst affected by the infection in the country so far. Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, with 9,267 and 9,227, cases respectively are the next worst affected by the disease. The national capital, Delhi, is just a couple of cases behind the 8 thousand mark as per the update on Thursday morning.

10:16 IST: 66 more COVID-19 cases in Rajasthan, state tally reaches 4,394
66 more COVID-19 cases have been reported from Rajasthan, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 4,394, according to the state Health Department on Thursday. The tally is inclusive of 1,697 patients who are active coronavirus patients while 2,575 patients have recovered from the infection, read the bulletin. With one new death due to COVID-19 reported, the death toll in the state stands at 122.

10:06 IST: Two more COVID-19 cases in Himachal, state tally reaches 69
Two more COVID-19 cases have been reported from Himachal Pradesh, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 69, said RD Dhiman Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Himachal Pradesh Government on Thursday. “A 30-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter tested positive for COVID-19 in Himachal Pradesh today. Both are from the Sirmaur district. They returned from Delhi on May 4 and have been in home quarantine since then,” he said. The total coronavirus cases in the state now stand at 69 which is inclusive of 28 patients who are active coronavirus cases, added Dhiman
