Coronavirus outbreak: Tanzania strict over sugar hoarding

Tanzania government has issued a strict warning to the traders against hoarding sugar amid Coronavirus outbreak. This lead to a hike in sugar prices

According to the media report, Innocent Bashungwa, the Minister of Industry and Trade, said: “The government has set up a commission that will conduct surprise inspection at the warehouses of the traders and check stocks of sugar. Strict action will be taken against traders that will be found hoarding sugar and selling at a high price during crisis emerged due to Covid-19 threat.”

The country is also working to increase the sugar output so that in future they do not have to commodity shortage.

Many countries in the world are ensuring that they have enough sugar stock in this grim situation. Due to Coronavirus, there is a shortage of essential food items in many countries. And they are in the process of collecting all essential food items.
