Country achieves 10.77 per cent ethanol blending percentage as on January 7, 2024

India has achieved 10.77 per cent ethanol blending as on 7th January 2024. As per the sources, the sugar-based feedstock has supplied a total quantity of 49.28 cr ltrs of ethanol as on 7th January 2024, against the contracted amount of 121.35 cr ltrs in the current ethanol supply season of 2023-24, which began from 1st November 2023.

Ethanol supplied from Sugarcane Juice is 31.36 cr ltrs vs the contracted amount of 45.15 cr ltrs in the period. Ethanol supplied from B-Heavy molasses is 16.39 cr ltrs compared to the contracted amount of 73.43 cr ltrs, and ethanol supplied from C-Heavy molasses is 1.53 cr ltrs against 2.78 cr ltrs of the contracted amount.

Moving on to grain-based ethanol supplies, the total ethanol supplies as on 7th January is 24.33 cr ltrs as against the contracted amount of 145.41 cr ltrs. Ethanol supplied from Damaged Foodgrain (DFG) stands at 14.58 cr ltrs as against the contracted amount of 87.22 cr ltrs. Ethanol supplied Maize is 9.75 cr ltrs as against the contracted amount of 42.32 cr ltrs.

The total ethanol supplied from both molasses-based distilleries and grain-based distilleries are 73.62 cr ltrs as against the total contracted amount of 266.76 cr ltrs.
