Davangere Sugar to invest in CO2 plant

Davangere Sugar has announced its plans to commission a new CO2 plant, stating that the project entails an investment of Rs 3 crore, to be funded through bank borrowings.

In an exchange filing, the company stated, “We inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company, at its meeting held held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 inter alia considered and approved commissioning of CO2 Plant.

The decision behind establishing the new plant is rooted in the company’s aim to convert waste molasses fermentation into liquefied carbon dioxide and dry ice, aligning with both environmental and economic objectives.

Since its inception, Davangere Sugar Company Limited has expanded its product portfolio beyond sugar, venturing into sustainable power and ethanol solutions.
