DCM Shriram to expand capacity of sugar mills

DCM Shriram Ltd is planning to invest around Rs 350 crore to expand the capacity of the sugar mills. The company has made an announcement regarding this on Monday.

According to the news agency PTI, the company said in the statement that it has approved three investment proposals for the sugar business to capitalise on the increase in sugarcane availability in its catchment area, enhancing capacity for production of refined sugar due to consumer preference and building flexibility of feedstock for its distilleries,

The company has several sugar factories located in Rupapur, Hariawan, Loni and Ajbapur in Uttar Pradesh. The total crushing capacity of these mills are 38,000 TCD (tonnes crushed of sugarcane daily).
