Demand to revive Bhimasingi sugar mill

Vizianagaram: The sugarcane farmers under the banner of Lok Satta Party have raised the issue of closure of the Bhimasingi sugar mill and asked the government to reopen it.

The demand was raised on a platform of the all-party meeting organised at Bhimasingi factory located on Vizianagaram-Kothavalasa route.

Addressing the gathering, Lok Satta Party State president Bhisetti Babji said, “The closure of the factory has worsened farmers financial situation. They are unable to find a way out to sell their standing cane crop. The only option is to reopen the sugar mill. The immediate opening of the factory will help farmers, factory workers and others who depend on the factory indirectly.”

He said that farmers will be forced to take up agitations if their future would be bleak with the lack of clarity over the reopening of the factory.
