Dominican Republic’s largest sugar company produces 3,96,288 tons of sugar

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: The Central Romana Mill, one of the biggest mills in the Dominican Republic, has declared the production of 396,288 short tons of sugar after completing the 2020-2021 harvest after crushing more than 3.4 million tons of cane.

The sugar produced is more than 14,000 short tons higher than the amount of grade 96 sugar produced in last season.

The company issued a press release stating that the manufacturing process has resulted in achieving 11.80% recovery this season leading to stable production guaranteeing a stable supply of sugar for the local market.

The company also stated that it produced more than 162,000 short tons of refined sugar and 21.8 gallons of molasses in the 197 days of harvest.
