Egypt buys 100,000 tonnes of raw sugar

Egypt’s state sugar buyer ESIIC has purchased 100,000 tonnes of raw sugar from the international market, reports Reuters. Earlier, ESIIC had floated an international tender in this regard. The tender according to the traders closed on Saturday.

ESIIC is believed to bought sugar in two consignments of 50,000 tonnes each at an estimated $470 per tonne c&f, said the traders.

The trading house Dreyfus would supply the first consignment to Egypt from April 1-15 and the second consignment would be supplied by the trading house Vieterra which would arrive in Egypt from April 16-30, said traders.
