Egypt: GASC to receive 100,000 tonnes of imported sugar after mid-November, says Minister

The Egyptian General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has recently inked an agreement to procure 100,000 tonnes of white sugar, with delivery scheduled after mid-November, as stated by Ali Moselhy, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, reported Zawya.

Minister Moselhy further highlighted that the country’s strategic reserve of sugar is sufficient until April 2024.

According to the Ministry of Supply’s spokesperson, the Holding Company for Food Industries is supplying its warehouses with 2,000 to 3,000 tons of sugar daily under the food subsidy system.
