Ethanol production in Maharashtra reaches 244 crore litres

Pune: According to Sakal’s report, ethanol units in the state have produced 244 crores liters of ethanol this year.

Officials from the state sugar commissionerate stated it is an increase 18 crore liters compared to the previous year’s production of 226 crores liters. The rise in ethanol production indicates a deliberate shift by sugar mills in the state towards reducing sugar production and prioritizing ethanol production.

For the ongoing crushing season, all sugar mills in the state have diverted 16 lakh tonnes of sugar towards ethanol production.
