Farm machinery Banks operations started in 126 Co-operative Cane and Sugar mill Societies of the State

Lucknow: Commissioner, Cane and Sugar, Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy informed that 378 crop residue management devices such as trash mulcher and Reversible M.B. plough have been made available in farm machinery banks of 126 cooperative Cane and Sugar mill societies of the state, which will be made available to the sugarcane farmers through cane/sugar mill societies on minimum rent.

Giving detailed information in this regard, Shri Bhoosreddy said that with the use of crop residue management equipment By cutting and mixing sugarcane leaves in the field, sugarcane farmers will get help in increasing the land fertility power, on the other hand, they will no longer need to purchase expensive machines. In this way, sugarcane farmers will be able to get double benefits by getting crop residue management devices at minimum rent from sugarcane and sugar mill societies.

The Cane Commissioner also informed that with a view to reduce the cost of sugarcane cultivation and to promote mechanization, farm machinery bank is being set up in sugarcane Societies. Under this scheme, 12 types of 35 agricultural equipment related to sugarcane cultivation and crop residue management will be kept and farmers who cannot purchase and use the above mentioned equipment, they will be provided these equipment through cane societies on rent. Through this scheme, the economic condition of farmers will improve and time will also be saved.
