Farmers booked for burning stubble

Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh: Farmers have been booked for burning the sugarcane and rice stubble. Three different police stations have taken against six farmers on the complaint of lekhpals of their respective areas.

According to the news report published in The Times of India, SHO Bija Ram said three farmers namely Amol, Ramesh and Shri Nivas from Tilsada village of Bilsanda police station were found burning dry sugarcane leaves in their fields.”

In another case, Vijay Kumar Trivedi, Tehsildar, Rampur circle said that three farmers from the jurisdiction of Seramau (North) police station were found burning paddy stubble.

Burning stubble has been banned by the government as it leads to an increase in air pollution.
