Farmers came to deliver sugarcane in mill die in an accident

Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh: Two farmers were killed in a road accident after a tractor ran over them in the Pahasu area in Bulandshahr district on Saturday, said police.

The deceased have been identified as Rinku and Ashok Kumar, residents of Ajnara village in Shikarpur area. They had come to deliver sugarcane to a sugar mill with cane loaded in a tractor-trolley. There was a long queue outside the mill and the duo was waiting for their turn and slept under the vehicle late night after their turn did not come.

The tractor behind their vehicle moved his tractor forward as he was unaware of the duo was sleeping under the vehicle in front of him.

The mill employees and other people gathered on the spot after hearing the screams. Both farmers were rushed to the local hospital Khurja for treatment where the hospital authorities declared them dead.
Police have taken the tractor driver into custody and both the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
