Amroha: Farmers demand to increase the capacity of sugar mill

Amroha: Leaders of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Asli) held a panchayat at the mandi committee in Shamli on Monday to discuss the ongoing issues with the sugar mill in the district, reported Live Hindustan.

District Vice President Chetan Singh said that farmers are being forced to guard their fields in the winter season to protect their crops from stray cattle. He demanded that the government take action to catch stray cattle and compensate farmers for the damage they have caused.

Tehsil president Chaudhary Samarpal Singh said that the capacity of the cooperative sugar mill in the district has not been increased even after five years of the announcement by the chief minister. He urged the government to increase the capacity of the mill soon.
