Farmers stage protest to demand revival of Bidvi sugar mill

Ambehata (Saharanpur): Sugarcane farmers attached with the cow protection committee staged a protest at the gate of Bidavi sugar mill demanding its revival.

According to the news report published in Amarujala.com, Chou. Bittu Nambardar, president of the committee said that the sugar mill has been closed for several years despite the demand of the cane farmers for its revival. Farmers had launched a hunger strike for 15 days in 2018 to press for their demand and the agitation was called off after the chief minister assured to revive it however the situation remained as it is.

As many as 45,000 sugarcane farmers are associated with the sugar mill and its revival will help in improving the financial situation of the farmers, he said.
