Farmers to stage demonstration at sugar mill on August 31 for unpaid cane dues

Nagal: Sugarcane farmers, united under the banner of BKU (Tomar), have decided to stage demonstration at Bajaj Sugar Mill in Gangnauli from August 31. The demand behind this move is the release of the pending cane dues, reports Live Hindustan.

Speaking at a farmers’ meeting organized at the organisation’s office, Jitendra Chaudhari, the President of the Western region, addressed the gathering, stating, “Sugarcane farmers are facing significant financial stress as the mill has not yet cleared the outstanding cane dues. Additionally, the banks are sending them notices to repay the loans they had taken for cultivating cane crops.”

In light of this situation, the farmers have opted to launch a protest, pressing for the prompt release of their pending cane dues.
