Fiji: Farmers demand removal of FSC CEO Graham Clark, claims Mahendra Chaudhry

Angry sugarcane farmers are demanding the removal of the Fiji Sugar Corporation CEO Graham Clark and senior management, claims National Farmers Union General Secretary, Mahendra Chaudhry.

According to the media report, Chaudhry said, ” Farmers are upset with the frustrating performance at the Rarawai Mill and frequent mill breakdowns.” However, Clark has refuted the allegation and says the current crush is 17 per cent ahead of the previous season.

Chaudhary said that the farmers were asked to wait for two days outside the mill to unload their Lorries. These delays are frequent due to mechanical problems. He also alleged that the mill is crushing well below its capacity of 30,000 tonnes per week.
