Fiji: Sugar shortage in supermarkets

The lockdown of Lautoka due to Covid-19 has resulted in a shortage of sugar at the local level and supermarkets across the country.

According to the news report, R B Patel Lami branch manager Kelvin Loy said that they have limited the supply of sugar for each customer due to shortage.

“We are providing only 2kg sugar to each customer. The sugar supply has been affected due to the lockdown in the west,” he said.

Jiten Lal, Rajendra Prasad Fiji Pte Limited warehouse manager said that most of their branches are running without sugar.
