Fiji: Sugarcane farmers have no access to funds to shop during the COVID-19 crisis, says former PM

As the COVID-19 crisis is worsening, the sugarcane farmers in Fiji do not have access to funds to shop during the crisis.

Country’s Former Prime Minister and National Farmers Union general secretary Mahendra Chaudhry informed Fiji Sugar Corporation and Sugar Industry Tribunal to release information on the third cane payment for the 2019 season.

Due to COVID-19, many countries across the world are affected. The coronavirus which had first emerged in China’s Wuhan city in December last year and has now spread across many countries in the world.
