Fiji to export sugar to US and Spain

Fiji will export sugar to America and Spain. The loading for the shipments have begun.

According to the media report, sugar producers will export 11, 500 tonnes to America and 30,000 tonnes to Spain. Graham Clark, Chief executive, Fiji Sugar Corporation said, “The sugar carrying vessel arrived at Labasa today and will load soon today. The second vessel will be loaded after it arrives on Sunday after loading sugar from Malau and Lautoka terminals.”

In this season, sugar production increased in Fiji. Sugar mills in the country so far crushed 637,504 tonnes of sugarcane and produced 54,949 tonnes of sugar, which is high as compared to the previous season.
