Muzaffarnagar: Sugarcane grown over the three acres of field was gutted to fire in Chhapar village of the district. The incident has been registered with the local police station and the reason for the fire is yet not known.
According to the media report, the field belongs to farmer Chhatarpal Tyagi’s son Sagwa Tyagi. The cane was fully grown and he was waiting for his turn to harvest the cane. On Sunday afternoon suddenly his fire caught fire and the passersby informed Tyagi about this. He along with the farmers rushed to the spot and tried to bring fire under control but the cane was gutted to ashes causing damage of Rs 50,000.
