Government’s effort on to revive closed sugar mill

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government is taking an effort to start closed sugar mills in the state. UP Sugar Mill Federation managing director Vimal Kumar Dubey along with a team of technical experts inspected the plant machinery on Thursday as part of the state’s government effort to run the closed Majhola sugar mill.

According to the reports, after inspection, the experts will file a report on required finance to revive the plants. After which the govt will create the road map to allocate the factory to private players on a long-term lease of operation.

Because of the bad condition of its plant and machinery, the mill was closed down on December 22, 2009.

Earlier government had stated that it is committed to reviving the closed sugar mills in the state.
