Bihar government focusing on using sugarcane for ethanol production: Minister

Patna, Bihar: Bihar’s Sugarcane Industry minister Pramod Kumar said that the Bihar government is focusing on using sugarcane for ethanol production.

According to the news report published in Livehindustan.com, he was speaking at the program organized in the state BJP office on Thursday.

Once the ethanol production units are set up in the state, this will bring the revolution in the Bihar industrial sector. This will also help in generating employment and increase the income of sugarcane farmers, he said.

Recently, Industry minister Shahnawaz Hussain had said, “Bihar government has received proposals worth Rs 30,000 crore to set up ethanol manufacturing plants.”

Bihar is the first state in the country that has announced the ethanol production policy. The state is promoting ethanol production with an aim to become one of the leading ethanol producers in the country.
