Government’s thrust on using ethanol as a vehicle fuel is now bearing fruit: Minister Gadkari

Government’s thrust on using ethanol as a vehicle fuel is now bearing fruit, said Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari, reports The Times of India.

Gadkari emphasized the government’s focus on promoting the production of green and alternative fuels. He mentioned that they are considering providing interest subsidies for the purchase of construction equipment vehicles that run on ethanol, methanol, or electricity.

He further highlighted the government’s goal of making farmers not only “Annadata” (providers of food) but also “Urjadata” (providers of energy).

Gadkari also mentioned a new initiative to produce bitumen from rice stubble. This initiative aims to reduce the import of bitumen, which is a material used in road construction, by utilizing rice stubble as a source.
