Green fuel will help to end need for petrol in India after 5 years, says Minister Gadkari

Nagpur: Indian government has taken various steps to boost the ethanol production in the country. As as result, India has saved over Rs 41,000 crore in the foreign exchange as country achieved 10 per cent ethanol blending in petrol.

Now, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari believes that green fuel will end the need for the use of petrol in vehicles in the country after five years.

He was speaking at a program organized in Akola where he was conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Science by Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth.

Addressing the gathering he said, “With full faith I want to say that petrol will vanish from the country after five years. Your cars and scooters will either be on green hydrogen, ethanol flex fuel, CNG or LNG.”
