Guyana and Cuba officials meet to discuss co-operation in sugar sector

Cuba and Guyana have initiated discussion on the co-operation of the sugar sector in both countries. The officials from Cuba sugar industry met the officials from Guyana Embassy in Cuba over the issue. The first meeting was held last month and continued on Wednesday.

The Cuban government had earlier signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GuySuCo in 2002 for cooperation in the sugar sector.

Cuba along with India and Brazil is one of the largest producers and exporters of sugar and the cooperation with Guyana will help both countries to develop sugar sectors that will benefit each other.
