Guyana seeks technical help from India for sugar industry development

Guyana Agriculture Minister Zulfikar Mustapha has stated that he is working for the technical support from India through trained personnel to develop the sugar industry in the country. Advice and assistance on the best way forward for the factories and cultivations will help the sector.

According to the media report, he said, “I am expecting that India can provide us help by providing technical personnel. I have written to the High Commissioner of India urging to provide us technical personnel to run the sugar estates. They are working on providing technical expertise to come forward and help us at the factory level. We have also requested for the technical support to help farmers increase their efficiency for cane cultivation.”
