Haryana: Cooperative sugar mills to clear dues of Rs 314 crore by July 5

The cooperative sugar mills in the state will clear the pending dues of Rs 314 crore by July 5, said Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal, reports PTI.

He was speaking while addressing a meeting organised to discuss the pending cane issue which was attended by several high-level government officials.

He has asked the cooperative sugar mills to ensure that they clear the pending cane dues within stipulated time. He also assured that the private sugar mills will also clear cane dues in time.

According to officials, for the 2021-22 crushing season the cooperative sugar mills have received a subsidy of Rs 78.92 crore till May 2022 and the private mills have received a subsidy worth Rs 57 crore. This includes Rs 29.28 crore to Saraswati Sugar Mill, Yamunanagar, Rs 8.60 crore to Naraingarh Sugar Mill, Rs 6.39 crore to Assandh Mill, and Rs 12.84 crore to Piccadilly Agro Industries Limited, Bhadson.

The sugar mills will receive a balance of Rs 59.15 crore soon.
