Haryana: Cooperative sugar mills to start cane crushing from next week

Chandigarh: All the cooperative sugar mills from Haryana will start cane crushing from next week, said Dr. Banwari Lal, state cooperative minister. He was speaking while inaugurating 64th cane crushing season of Panipat Sugar mill.

He said, “We have also increased targets of the sugar mills this season and have taken efforts to achieve this. We are planning to set up a new sugar mill with a capacity of 5,000 TCD in Panipat district. This will benefit the farmers from Panipat as well as neighbouring districts. The construction of the mill will start from March next year and the crushing capacity of the new mill would be 50,000 quintals per day.”

“The farmers should plant a high yielding variety of sugarcane that will help in increasing cane recovery that will benefit farmers as well as millers,” he further added.
