Chandigarh: Crushing season in Haryana is all set to begin next month but the state government has not yet fixed sugarcane price (SAP) for the 2022-23 season, reports Hindustan Times.
Sugarcane farmers in the state are awaiting increase in sugarcane price.
Last year, the state government raised the SAP for cane by Rs 12.
Recently, Punjab government announced Rs 20 per quintal increase in the SAP, thus raising it to Rs 380 per quintal. Now, farmer leaders in Haryana are demanding the government to increase the sugarcane SAP to Rs 400 per quintal.
