Indonesia: Ministry allocates 3.1 million tonnes of refined sugar

Jakarta: Indonesia allocated 3.1 million tonnes of refined sugar in 2021 to cater the need of food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, said the Industry Ministry based on the coordination meeting at industrial level held on December 14, 2020.

Director General of Agro Industry, Abdul Rochim, appealed to the food and beverage producers to not to worry over the shortage of supply of refined sugar in 2021.

According to the media report, he said, “Based on the outcome of a limited coordination meeting on January 26, 2021, demand for refined sugar for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries in the first semester of 2021, set at 1.3 million tons, will soon be provided for in a decision soon.”
