New Delhi: K. N. Group is working on a plan to increase ethanol production capacity to meet the rising domestic demand of Biofuel.
India, the world’s third-biggest oil importer, depends on foreign supply to meet its 80 per cent demand. The country has decided to increase ethanol blending by 20% by 2025 which was earlier set at 2030.
As per the news report published by Reuters, Vijay Shrishrimal, managing director of Mumbai-based K. N Group, said, “Aiming to help India reduce the dependence on crude oil, we have ambitious plans to increase ethanol production.”
“The company has just acquired a 100,000-litre a day ethanol plant and plans to set up a new 100,000 litres a day facility in India’s west. At the recently acquired plant, we plan to raise ethanol production capacity to 160,000 litres a day from 100,000 litres,” he further added.
