Karnal administration aims to reduce stubble burning

Karnal: The Karnal district administration is taking steps to reduce stubble burning in the district and promote the use of ethanol as a renewable fuel, reported Tribune India.

The administration has started micro-monitoring stubble-burning cases at the village level. A team comprising the village secretary, patwari, and agriculture officer will hold meetings with farmers to educate them about the disadvantages of stubble burning and provide them with alternatives.

The administration will also provide straw from stubble to the ethanol plant of IOCL Panipat. This will help reduce air pollution and promote the use of ethanol as a renewable fuel.

The Karnal administration’s initiative to use straw from stubble to make ethanol is a welcome step. It will help reduce air pollution and promote the use of renewable energy.
