Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha will organize a protest outside the residence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Monday demanding pending cane dues and fixing cane price of Rs 4,500 per tonne, reports The Hindu.
The government is neglecting the issue of pending cane dues and not taking action against the sugar mills, said Nagendra Tambe, district unit head of the Sangha.
He requested the state government to direct district authorities to ensure that the mills clear pending cane dues of the farmers.
