Kejriwal asks Punjab CM to pay compensation for damaged crops due to unseasonal rains

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to pay compensation to the farmers whose crops were damaged due to unseasonal rains.

In a relief to farmers hit by unseasonal rains in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently announced the compensation of Rs 50,000 per hectare for damaged crops.

Kejariwal urged Punjab CM on Twitter in Hindi stating that, “Our government has decided to pay compensation of Rs 50,000 per hectare to the farmers for crops they have lost due to heavy rainfall. We urge the Punjab government to take similar steps and compensate farmers as they have suffered heavy losses due to the unseasonal rain.”
